Douglasville, GA | Douglas County

January 8, 2015

I think Chapel Hill High School is the best high school in Douglas County. Most of the teachers are great and try to be very involved with every student. I enjoy going gong to Chapel Hill, I've been there for 3 years and I've enjoyed each and every year.

I feel that the school is very responsible. It focuses on the academic aspect of student learning and keep students safe. Chapel Hill also is great programs that people who can get involved in. We can get in to charities, sports, the arts, and etc. Even though this school is pretty good, it really doesn't make the social interaction an important part of the school. Eat even though everyone can get their group of people to hang out with, but it is not encouraged to go out there and meet new people. That is how I feel about you up with you high school.

I'm a freshman at Chapel Hill, and I think it's great. I'm in the AP magnet program. Not only is this school fun, but its involving. I've been in The !A Play, French Honor Society, sports, tutoring (due to absences), Gospel Choir,, and I'm planning on doing even more. I've moved around just about every year of my life, and this school, by far, has some of the best discipline I've ever seen in my entire life. We did a class activity where we rated our school and the average overall rating was an outstanding 8 (including those who rated like 1 just because). Anyone who doesn't like this school is probably basing it off one particular experience (meaning they messed themselves up). As long as you pull your weight, you'll do great and will love thus school just as much as I do.

Though this school has a very struck dress code I still believe it is a very good school. In our math class we rated our school on a 1-10 number line and most people rated the school in the 6-10 range which is high.

I am currently a freshman at Chapel Hill and I m enrolled in the AP Magnet program that is new to our school this year. The program allows freshman to take AP courses and later start dual enrollment to get college credit. If you ll be going to Chapel Hill anytime soon, I d recommend taking advantage of this program and what it offers. Overall the school is a great school; the teachers provide tutoring before and after school for students who might need a little extra help, and where academics is concerned, I d say our school is one of the best in the county. Our sports programs are decent. Our football team is not the greatest (we re probably the worst), but every other sports team is doing really well. There are clubs and activities that you can join and benefit from. Chapel Hill is a good school.

Being a student at CHHS I know the atmosphere here is more like that of a middle school instead of a highschool. The dress code is rather strict for students that are 14-18, especially in comparison to the county's other schools. My middle school actually had the same dress code (no holes above the knee, no uncovered shoulders, three-inch skirt rule, etc.). The school is strict and i feel the student body would enjoy their time much more if the school toned down a bit. The teaching staff is a saving grace of CHHS. You can tell that they care about their students and our grades and futures. Other than dress code and the teachers, their is lunch which I don't particularly care for, they don't have halal, kosher, nor certified organic foods either (a downer). But they do serve salad as an alternative to non-carnivorous students. In the vending machines however; you will only find sugar-free, fat-free, extremely falsified-health-conscious snacks. Regarding parental involvement, I'm not sure about how active the PTA is, and clubs, there is a vary of clubs for different students. Overall, anyone should send their child here if you're looking for a focused on education for them.

Chapel Hill High School is a true school of excellence. With its comprehensive curriculum and its constant drive to be the best, this is truly a school to be proud of. All of the teachers and staff work their hardest to ensure the best learning environment for our students. Chapel Hill exhibits a amazing level of concern and involvement in our lives. Chapel Hill takes pride in their fine arts and sports in a manner of respect and great support. And I am honored to call myself a Panther!

Chapel Hill High School is a great academic school that is multicultural and has a great academic record. The teachers and students strive for excellence everyday in and out of the classroom. However i think some of the rules are a bit over the top, for instance no phones allowed until 3:40. None the less this is a school of the best getting better.

chapel hill high school is pretty fantastic. Most of the teachers get very envovled with their teachings and make sure to interact with students. They care for your grade and try to benefit you in every way possible. Which means make up tests are a huge plus! School food honestly isn't all that bad and the salads are excellent. This school also provides many clubs and organization it kinda hard to not to fit in somewhere. You always feel a part of something. Not only is it fun but allows you great advantages when applying to colleges!! overall this school is perfect for my academic needs.

Chapel Hill High School is definitely the best choice of all the high schools in Douglas County. I currently am a student here and I am a freshman. I originally thought that this school was going to have super easy classes. But truly our teachers try to challenge us as much as possible. CHHS offers AP classes and honors classes. Chapel Hill's athletic programs and clubs offer a variety of choices to find the activity perfect for you! I am currently on the swim team and involved in HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America). Our administration provides a safe and healthy learning environment as well. CHHS also has a AP Magnet Program which offers students from everywhere to come to Chapel Hill and participate in our AP classes. CHHS will for sure be the perfect choice for every student!

CHHS is not the best school, but it's not the worst. Administration is really strict on dress code. Our football team is officially the worst team in Douglas County. However, it is a learning environment and has plenty of productive clubs an opportunities. It still feels like a prison. Lunch is basic, but edible; I recommend bringing your own lunch. Bus routes could be changed because from riding my own bus, I know they have routes that make them go in circles and waste time. I am currently a freshman and the school is ok simply because my friends go here. I personally do not like all the teachers because most of them sit around, eat, put a slide on the screen and tell you to copy it. Next day in class there is a test. No elaboration or explanation on the notes.

I'm currently a freshmen here at Chapel Hill and so far it's been really enjoyable. Chapel Hill provides a variety of sports and clubs to choose from such as softball, volleyball, swimming, tennis and much more. The teaching staff here at Chapel Hill is very supportive and they're always here to make sure you understand what you're learning whether it's before or after school, because they care about you and your education. Here at Chapel Hill you have the opportunity to sign up for AP classes and earn college credit. Chapel hill not only provides you with an amazing high school experience it also prepares you for college. Chapel Hill is friendly and organized learning environment where I can strive to be the best that I can be. If you had to choose a school, I would definitely recommend Chapel Hill High School.

I am a freshman here at Chapel Hill and in my short time at the school there have been several pros and cons I have seen. From a student's POV they would say the dress code is very strict because CHHS is the only school in DCSS that makes males tuck in their shirts, but to be honest it isn't that bad. Statistics show that many people are very complementary of kids behavior and appearance at CHHS. Next, the lunch quality was a huge jump from middle school. I was formerly a Yeager Mustang, and brought my lunch to school every day of the year. I haven't brought my lunch one time this school year because the food is fairly good. Go ahead and brag about how good ALX is but check the CCRPI please. Thank you and GO PANTHERS!

I'm currently a freshman at Chapel Hill High School. This is actually my first year at a public school since I have attended private schools basically throughout my entire life. I'm a straight A student with good conduct and for that reason, I was scared that I'd be an outsider. I was prepared to see fights everywhere, but that wasn't the case, which was amazing to know. On the other hand when I first moved here, I was far too excited to stop wearing uniforms, however I didn't think that CHHS would have strict guidelines on their dress code, but I'm quite happy that they do. It definitely prevents many teenagers from dressing inappropriately since it is a school. I'm also thankful for being involved in many clubs such as HOSA, Key Club, and FBLA. I haven't played any sports for CHHS yet, but they definitely have good, competitive teams. As far the school staff, they're alright. That being said, I have extremely high standards, but for a public school, CHHS meets most of them. Overall CHHS is a good school, but it could honestly improve in food and making their classes more challenging.
